Following on from the very successful Liverpool & Manchester - 1: LNWR Lines, Bob Pixton has turned his attention to the Cheshire Lines – jointly owned by the Great Northern, Great Central and Midland Railways, and on this route at least, never actually venturing into Cheshire!

This book takes us on an imaginary journey between the cities, retraced station by station, between two termini that now no longer exist – one is now the site of a shopping mall, the other is a renowned exhibition centre. Also included is a look at the Liverpool Overhead Railway.

The series is completed with a look at the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway line between these major cities.
