At last, an easy to follow and understand book about what (to many) is still one of the most difficult aspects of building a railway layout.  Simple explanations and a host of tips provide useful information for both the novice and the more experienced builder.

What makes this book special though, is the free CD-ROM, that explains everything in even more detail.  If you don't have a computer, don't worry, the book is excellent on its own, but if you do, welcome to a world where layout design, wiring and even testing can all be achieved at your desk. You need to experience it to believe it!

Printed on quality art paper with copious illustrations and plans.  CD-ROM included.  The software supplied with the book is suitable for Windows 95 and upwards.

TRAX users can join the TRAX discussion group (please note that this list is hosted by Yahoo! and replaces the earlier Topica list).

One of the layouts in the 2005 Scalefour Challenge, "Coombe Wharf", by Frank Warren, was designed using TRAX, and the trackwork was built using templates created in TRAX 2.  Pictures of this are on the June 2005 Mickleham Models and Hobbies Show website.

Mark Pelham has also used TRAX to design several layout concepts for Crawley Model Railway Society, one of which, "West Tilgate" is now under construction and can be seen on the CMRS website.  A second layout might appear at some time in the future, also designed using TRAX.

We would be very interested to hear about any other layouts that have been built using this versatile software.  Please send us a link if you have got pictures of your layout on the Web.
